Kosovo - The Hand of Friendship
Moved to compassion by the scenes of horror being broadcast around the world, one Arab nation acted quickly and decisively to help these innocent victims in their hour of greatest need.
The year was 1999. The simmering ethnic conflict in the Balkans had exploded into violent civil war. In the mountainous region of Kosovo, Serbian forces were brutally enforcing their government's cruel ethnic cleansing policy by forcing Muslim Kosovars to leave their land and their homes, or die.
Tens of thousands were forced to flee to neighboring Albania, creating the greatest refugee crisis seen in Europe since the end of the Second World War.
